We’re putting the summer heat in the rearview mirror and settling into fall-like weather. Duluth’s high for today was likely set around 1 am at 67°. Duluth’s daytime high is expected to stay around 61. Overall, afternoon temps will be similar to what we have heading out the door ranging from mid-50s to mid-60s across the Northland. The cooler air is being ushered into the region on a breezy north wind. It’s a cloudy day with scattered showers gradually moving east into the U.P. Additional accumulation today will be rather light, around a tenth to a quarter of an inch for most. Tuesday closed out with 2.77” in Duluth, setting a daily record for precipitation.
Tonight is mostly cloudy with lows in mid-40s to near 50. Thursday is another cool day with highs ranging from mid-50s east near Ironwood to 70 west by Brainerd. Cloud cover will be thick in the morning and gradually thin out through the day. By Thursday night, lows will be in mid-30s to mid-40s with isolated frost possible in the cool areas of northern Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin. Those near Lake Superior stay above frost territory. Friday will feature sunshine and 70s returning to the Northland. The weekend brings low rain chances, mostly Saturday night and Sunday.
