UMD football eyes first win against Sioux Falls since 2013

The University of Minnesota Duluth football team will face Sioux Falls on Saturday with a chance to grab their third win and continue their undefeated season.

UMD has scored 88 points in two games and only allowed 31, a true testament to the strong season they’re having.

If the Bulldogs win, not only would they defeat Sioux Falls for the first time since 2013, but it would also be head coach Curt Wiese’s 100th career win. Despite this fact, Wiese had his sights set on his opponent, not his achievement.

“Sioux Falls got a new staff so they have a completely different look in all three phases of the game,” said Wiese. “But it’s a team that we haven’t had a lot of success against here over the last eight seasons so we’re going to make sure that heading into this week that we are as prepared as we were the first two weeks.”

This Saturday is also UMD’s 10th annual Military Appreciation game. The game kicks off at 2 p.m. on Saturday.
