Cirrus Aircraft held their grand opening of the Cirrus Innovation Center today.
Engineers, partners, and the community were able to enjoy an open house to celebrate the company’s accomplishments.
This marks a milestone, as Cirrus had their first headquarters in Duluth beginning in 1995-96. Before
Former Mayor of Duluth Gary Doty was there and says he was the one who brought the two brothers to the city back in the day. “They were originally going to head to North Dakota until I flew out there and told them why Duluth is the best spot.”
Doty’s words must have hit home because it worked, and now years later Cirrus is once again able to call Duluth home.
The $189,000 square foot facility will bring in jobs and promote economic growth, says Doty. Manufactures from around the world use Cirrus’s products.
Mechanical systems engineer Tyler Peterson says that this is going to create a free thinking and innovative environment for engineers to brainstorm. He says he loves working there, and Cirrus is a great company to work for.
Cirrus ranks first general aviation globally. To learn more about the company, visit the Cirrus Aircraft website.
