UMD women’s hockey to announce 25th anniversary team

On Thursday, the University of Minnesota Duluth women’s hockey program announced plans for a 25th-anniversary team. The anniversary team was selected by a committee of local media members and local hockey historians. Six members will represent the best players in history, with the other 19 selected by the committee.
The hockey program will unveil one player every Thursday during the regular season, then the starting lineup will be announced during the last week of the regular season.
The first of 25 members will be revealed on Thursday, October 5th, a day before the Bulldogs open up their season at AMSOIL Arena with a two-game homestand against Long Island University on Friday at 6 p.m.
