Food Truck Friday: Bridgeman’s
Bridgeman’s is well-known for its ice cream and restaurant, but they also serve food and sweet treats on wheels.
“It’s been a couple seasons now,” Emily Broman, Bridgeman’s co-owner, said. “We’re loving it. We love going out to different businesses and different grad parties, weddings.”
Their general manager, Eric Denney, returned to Bridgeman’s in part because of the food truck. He enjoys having the opportunity to play with menu items and try new things in small batches.
“This is another thing that you can only get on the food truck, our Truck Tots is what we call them,” Denney said of one of the popular menu items. “So it’s some dehydrated potatoes, some onions, some garlic, salt, and we put some chives and cheddar cheese in there.”
They also usually have some kind of burger on the truck, plus a Mexican Street Corn Bowl. The other items might change each time you see the truck. And Bridgeman’s recently added another vehicle to the fleet: an Airstream.
“It’s a 1960, so it’s pretty old. It’s been all refurbished. We had a company out of Minneapolis get it all food-safe for us,” Broman said. “And we’re going to kind of gradually get launched into some ice cream catering.”
They’ll serve sundaes and more out of the retro Airstream.
Even though food truck season is winding down, Bridgeman’s catering goes all winter long.
