One man is in custody related to the shots fired incident in Superior
The Superior Police have provided an update in the investigation surrounding the shots fired incident in Superior last week. According to authorities, a 21-year-old man turned himself into law enforcement Friday morning.
At around 12:30 a.m. on September 22, Superior officers received a report of shots fired near North 58th Street and Baxter Avenue, in Superior. Authorities say at least one house was struck by gunfire and there were no injuries in the incident.
At the time, residents were asked to shelter in place as officers completed their investigation of the scene.
A week later, on Thursday, the Superior Police Department executed search warrants, and authorities say they found evidence related to the shooting incident. The name of the man has not been released and there is no word yet as to what led to the shooting.
The suspect is being held in the Douglas County Jail and is expected to be charged with first-degree recklessly endangering safety and endangering safety by reckless use of a firearm, which are both felony charges.
