The University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) men’s hockey team will have one week off before opening National Collegiate Hockey Conference play against Western Michigan University (WMU).

Heading into the bye the Bulldogs are in good shape. They’re coming off a big sweep over the University of Minnesota, where Hermantown native Blake Biondi tallied two goals and an assist extending UMD’s win streak to three straight.

"Obviously it was a big win, big two wins I guess, for us and…we want some momentum going into league play and we got it," Biondi said. "Now we’re just tuning some things up and keeping in good shape."

The Bulldogs drop the puck on their first NCHC series November 5 at WMU, meeting the Broncos for the sixth time this calendar year.
