VIDEO: Full COVID-19 health briefing from Duluth Hospitals

On Tuesday, medical professionals from Essentia Health and St. Luke’s Hospital in Duluth came together for a virtual press conference to update the community on COVID-19 developments in our communities. The panel discussed how each hospital is handling an increase in COVID-19 cases, from staffing to visitation.

Participating in Tuesday’s briefing; Dr. Anne Stephen, chief medical officer of Essentia Health’s East Market; Dr. Nick Van Deelen, co-president/CEO & chief medical officer at St. Luke’s; Dr. Christina Bastin De Jong, critical care physician at Essentia Health; and Dr. Jonathan Shultz, St. Luke’s Hospital.

Both hospitals are feeling the strain of COVID plus other problems related to the pandemic, and are asking for the public’s help to stop the spread.

The panel continues to encourage people get vaccinated to help stop the spread.
