Mesaba Avenue closed October 14-15 in Duluth

Heads up drivers, a major roadway in Duluth will be closed temporarily Thursday night. MnDOT says crews will be closing Mesaba Avenue from West 1st Street to southbound I-35, between 8 p.m. Thursday, October 14 and 6 a.m. Friday, October 15. MnDOT says the closure is needed so crews can install a precast barrier that will put traffic into one lane before merging onto I-35.

Traffic will be detoured on Mesaba Avenue from West 1st Street to 6th Avenue West onto Michigan Street and then to 5th Avenue West and onto southbound I-35.

This detour and closure is needed to continue progress of the Twin Ports Interchange project. To learn more visit https://www.dot.state.mn.us/d1/projects/twin-ports-interchange/, or call the Twin Ports Interchange Hotline at 218-343-3748.
