Children’s Memorial Garden dedication ceremony in Superior
The community is invited to attend the Children’s Memorial Garden dedication ceremony on Thursday, July 21 at 12pm at the garden on Second Point, Billings Park, in Superior, WI.
Organizers say the Children’s Memorial Garden was developed by community members taking part in UW-Superior’s Leadership Superior-Douglas County program in 2015. The Children’s Memorial Garden’s mission is to create a garden of hope, healing, and peace for families and friends that have experienced the tragic loss of a child.
“The garden is peaceful sanctuary for reflection and recollection of cherished memories, and it will act as a symbol of life’s everlasting beauty and grace. All are welcome here,” Katelyn Baumann said in a release.
The garden is officially a part of the City of Superior’s Park, Reaction & Forestay Department and will be maintained through the Blooms Brothers’ formal adoption through the City’s ‘Adopt-a-Garden’ program.
The dedication ceremony will include a welcome, ribbon cutting, original poem, thank yous, information on the garden’s background and ways to get involved in the future through volunteering or brick sponsorships.
