Community celebrates Proctor man receiving organ donation

A Proctor man has a new lease on life thanks to a selfless organ donor.

55-year-old Danny Bushnell is currently recovering from a life-changing double lung transplant and sharing his newfound hope with his supportive community.

On Saturday, the community came out to AAD Shriners Event Center in Hermantown for a fundraising campaign to help celebrate Bushnell’s gift of new life while assisting with his significant out-of-pocket medical bills. Bushnell says he is appreciative of the support and is advocating for others to become a donor.

"Become a donor. You will save other people’s lives. That’s all I can really stress. If you’re not a donor already, please become one," said Bushnell.
