Gates opened at eleven am today for the 32nd Annual Bayfront Blues Festival. This year’s line-up features 21 bands spread out during the three-day event. The event was unable to take place last year due to the pandemic.
Spectator Kelley Lemon attended with her family and friends and enjoyed the beautiful day.
“Fresh air and good music and good food," Lemon said. "I mean, everyone’s happy, healthy, and having fun. That’s how it..It feels right. How it should be.”
Last year, covid restrictions affected the livelihood of musicians around the world.
“It’s just a loss or sense of purpose when you’re a musician and that’s your main thing, " said singer Myra Burnette. "Like that’s your job. Like this is my job. I didn’t have any other jobs. So like I actually turned to teaching guitar, so I kinda pushed myself in different ways.”
This year’s Bayfront Blues festival is more spread out than usual and has fewer bands, but a large crowd was still able to enjoy the festivities.
