Prep Soccer: Cloquet-Esko-Carlton advances to 7AA title game, Duluth East falls in semifinals

In prep soccer action on Thursday, the Cloquet-Esko-Carlton boys earned their spot in the Section 7AA title game, while Duluth East fell in the 7AAA semifinals.
The top-seeded Duluth East boys suffered a 1-0 loss at home to Centennial, ending their season 11-4-3. The fourth seeded Greyhound girls also saw their season end in the Section 7AAA semifinals, falling to top-seeded Centennial on the road 2-0. They finish with a 12-4-2 record.
In the Section 7AA boys semifinals, Cloquet-Esko-Carlton defeated Duluth Denfeld 2-0. They advance to host No. 2 Grand Rapids, who beat Hermantown 4-1, in the title game Tuesday, October 12 at 7:30 p.m.
In the Section 7AA girls semifinals, Cloquet-Carlton defeated Hermantown 1-0 and North Branch beat Denfeld 1-0. Cloquet-Carlton will host North Branch in the 7AA title game Tuesday, October 12. Time is TBD.
