Despite early start Huskies drop 5th straight to Willmar

Despite taking an early lead on Saturday, the Duluth Huskies dropped their fifth straight game to the Willmar Stingers.

The Huskies put up three runs in the first two innings to lead 3-0, but fell 11-4 to open their weekend series.

Charlie Rhee, Mike Boeve, and Peyton Powell each tallied one RBI, two hits, and one run for the Huskies. Northwestern alum Jake Brill made his first start tallying one hit and one run for Duluth.

On the mound for Duluth, Jonny Guzman threw seven strikeouts.

The Huskies (7-8) and Stingers (9-8) are set to close out their series Sunday at 1:05pm at Wade Stadium.
