Magic of Storytelling: "The Missing Daffodils"

Books are passports into a new world. Earlier this year, WDIO participated in a campaign called the Magic of Storytelling, and with the help of Disney Publishing Worldwide and the non-profit First Book, two local schools received new books for some of their students. Superior Choice Credit Union sponsored the campaign.

WDIO News knows how important reading can be, so a few staff members chose a book to share with you. Here is Meteorologist Justin Liles reading "The Missing Daffodils" from Disney’s 5-Minute Girl Power Stories book.

Last week, Baihly Warfield, reporter/anchor shared "The New Royal Detective," part of the Mira Royal Detective series from Disney Junior.
We will share a new story, next week.

WDIO and Superior Choice Credit Union worked together to make a difference in our community, by opening up a world of reading.

For nine years, the Magic of Storytelling campaign has harnessed the power of The Walt Disney Company’s talent and networks to inspire the next generation of storytellers by providing books to educators serving kids in need through First Book, a nonprofit organization that Disney has collaborated with for decades. If you would like to learn more about First Book, or view videos that can help your children learn to love reading, visit ABC Magic of Storytelling.
