Meghan McCain to leave ABC’s ‘The View’
On Thursday, conservative firebrand Meghan McCain says she is leaving the ABC daytime talk show ‘The View’ after four years. She’s been doing the show remotely during the COVID-19 pandemic, like the other hosts, and said she doesn’t want to leave her Washington area home, husband and baby when the show’s New York studio opens up.
The daughter of the late Senator John McCain, Meghan is known for her outspoken views, in a forum where she’s usually outnumbered. Her views have led to verbal fireworks and compelling television on ‘The View,’ which has done well in the ratings.
McCain says she’s not leaving until the end of the July, telling her co-hosts that ‘if you want to fight a little more, we have four more weeks.’ has been with the hit ABC talk show for the past four years.
Statement from ABC News:
“For the past four years, Meghan McCain has brought her fierce determination and vast political knowledge and experience to The View. She recently came to us with her decision to depart the show at the end of this season, a difficult choice that she made for her and her family that we respect and understand. We wish the best for Meghan as she plans her next chapter, and thank her for the passion and unique voice that she shared with us and our viewers each day.”
