Justin Liles: Rain returns tonight

What a beautiful fall day we are seeing around the Northland today. Temperatures are above average. There is plenty of sun with little wind and the hillside is painted gold with fall foliage. Clouds will continue to increase as we head into the evening as our next round of rain moves into the region. Chances of rain begin tonight in north-central Minnesota and then spread eastward into northwest Wisconsin.

Light to moderate rainfall amounts expected by Thursday morning. Thursday morning may see some thick dense fog around the region too. As much as an inch of rain is likely through Aitkin, Itasca, and Koochiching County. This won’t be the end as it now looks as if another round of rain is set to arrive by Friday.

Friday is looking wet and breezy. This slow moving low will likely linger through the weekend as rain and overcast skies are now possible. Saturday looks more like sprinkles only and Sunday just looks overcast. Conditions look to warm up and improve next week.

A 50 percent chance of showers, mainly after 1pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 56. Breezy, with a west wind 5 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.
