Shop on the Corner’s grand reopening showcasing several vendors

The Shop on the Corner held their grand reopening on Saturday, October 21st. The store was open for the past couple of months, but reopened to the people in the Cloquet community.

Pamela Hubbard, the owner of the Shop on the Corner, said there’s approximately 60 vendors featuring their products throughout the store.

“It’s a huge variety from photography to crocheting to painting to ceramics, not only a variety of handmade, but vintage also. So if somebody is looking for a special gift, I’m sure they’ll find it here,” Hubbard said.

Hubbard said the entire Shop on the Corner is using every inch of the building selling artwork, decorations and other crafts.

“Not only do we have the shop, but we have the commercial kitchen that trying to raise money to get commercial refrigerators,” Hubbard said. “Once we do that, we’ll be able to offer cooking classes as well as sandwiches, coffee and tea.”

Also if you have been wanting to take up a new hobby, Hubbard said the Shop on the Corner has several vendors teaching their craft.

“We have a classroom, and so we offer classes to. So you can learn how to paint. You can learn how to bead. You can learn how to crochet, make lotions and soaps and such. So many things that we offer.”

While the Shop on the Corner is at capacity for vendors, Hubbard did mention she’s looking for more vendors for a craft show.

“If anybody is interested in taking part in our November 17th and 18th craft show,” Hubbard said. “We have two locations. The Armory is all handmade and then the Pine Tree Plaza is a mix of handmade and home based businesses. So I’m looking to fill the Pine Tree Plaza right now, and it would be lovely to get some new, fresh, wonderful, talented people in there.”
