Our Monday begins gloomy, wet, and mild. Areas of fog bring poor visibility around the Twin Ports and for much of northern Minnesota. Rain is most widespread early on, then showers move east of the Twin Ports and linger along the South Shore this afternoon. We’ll look near and north of the Iron Range for snow to mix in this afternoon, and roads may become a bit slick here this evening as temps approach freezing. Our high temps for the day are set in the morning ranging from upper 30s by the international border to low 50s in northwest Wisconsin. Temperatures will gradually fall through the day.

The Arrowhead will dry out through the evening and tonight. Wintry mix chances will linger along the South Shore, but little to no accumulation is expected. As winds shift out of the east Tuesday, light lake effect showers may be directed near the Twin Ports and the North Shore. Another widespread rain snow combo arrives from the west Tuesday afternoon and continues overnight into Wednesday.

Flakes may enter the mix in the Twin Ports, but little to no snow accumulation is expected here. A dusting is possible looking north and the chance for 1-3” will stay north of the Iron Range along the international border near the tip of the Arrowhead. There’s a slight chance for additional rain or snow to the region Thursday into Friday, then a quiet and milder stretch is expected to settle in over the weekend.
