At this point in the season, it’s no surprise when a UMD hockey player takes home a weekly award, but it’s especially impressive when one team produces two of them, and that’s what the UMD Women’s hockey team did.

The big reason the Bulldogs moved up in the polls this week was Reese Hunt, who scored five of the eight goals that the Bulldogs scored this weekend, leading her to a WCHA Forward of the week award.

Between the pipes, Éve Gascon continued her strong Freshman year winning WCHA Freshman of the week. Gascon is tied for the second most shutouts in the NCAA and is the only freshman to have recorded three of them.

The Bulldogs aren’t in action again until next weekend.
