Durrwachter elected to Duluth City Council First District post
Duluth voters have elected Wendy Durrwachter to the Duluth City Council First District post in Tuesday’s election.
Unofficial results as of 10 p.m. Tuesday night showing Durrwachter getting more votes than than her opponent Tim Meyer.
Meyer currently serves on the Duluth HRA Commission, City of Superior Historic Preservation Committee, and APEX. He’s a two-term Planning Commissioner, Historic Preservation Commissioner, and Public Arts Commission President for the City of Duluth.
Durrwachter is a single mother who supported her children through multiple jobs, working as a restaurant server while pursuing her passion for music. Durrwachter is now an accomplished composer. Her two children are Duluth Public School graduates who now work and attend school in the Twin Cities. She resides in Lakeside.
The first district post is currently held by Gary Anderson.
Anderson announced he would not seek re-election back in February.
