#16 UMD volleyball upsets #5 SMSU in NSIC quarterfinals
On Tuesday the 16th ranked University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) volleyball team upset fifth ranked Southwest Minnesota State University (SMSU) 3-1 in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) quarterfinals at SMSU.
The Bulldogs entered with the sixth seed and the Mustangs the third seed in the NSIC bracket.
UMD took sets one and two 25-17 and 25-15, then dropped set three 25-21, only to come back and win it in set four 25-21. The Bulldogs were led by Cianna Selbitschka and Payton Addink with 17 kills a piece, Kaylyn Madison with 22 digs, and Madison Gordon with 48 assists.
Next, UMD heads to Wayne, Nebraska next to take on the Concordia St. Paul Golden Bears in the NSIC semifinals Saturday, Nov. 18 at 7 p.m.. For the full bracket, Click Here.
