Food has the power to bring people together across cultures. That’s why UW-Superior’s World Student Association is hosting an International Cooking Demonstration.

Tamami Igeta is an international student studying at UWS from Japan. She explains to The Lift, “The theme is a Taste of Home. So they actually get to taste the international student’s cooking can taste like they’re home, so not Americanized.”

Thirteen dishes will be featured Saturday from 9 countries- including South Korea, Japan, Columbia, Ecuador, India, Nepal, Ukraine, Mexico, Ethiopia, and Indigenous communities will also be represented.

University of Wisconsin-Superior students will prepare various international dishes at the World Student Association’s International Cooking Demonstration on Saturday from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Pilgrim Lutheran Church in Superior.

Tickets, available at the door, are $5 for adults and free for children under 10. Pilgrim Lutheran Church is located at 820 Belknap Street in Superior.
