Christmas came early this year for the folks at Safe Haven in Duluth. Cenovus employees stopped by the shelter and resource center on Wednesday with truckloads of hygiene products, diapers, and other necessities for women and kids.

Spearheaded by the group “Women at Cenovus,” it was a product drive across their facilities. Superior employees really gave big which included a $4,000 check as well.

According to Heather Drees at Safe Haven, “The holidays can be really tough for survivors in our community who have left, are working on leaving, or have to leave because of a domestic violence situation. Hygiene products are something that a lot of us don’t think about, but when you pick up and leave with nothing, just to have some basic needs and not have to worry about what to have for themselves and to have their families cared for is really important.”

Kate Van Daele, the Senior Regional Communications Advisor at Cenovus says, “In addition to this being a great resourse to the communuity, it weas a really helpful way that we as a company could give back. One of our values is to make it better. And so this aligns with that value and an effort to make things better.”
