Brandon Weatherz: Milder and quiet stretch ahead
We’re putting Tuesday’s bitter cold behind us. Wednesday morning temps are in teens and 20s rather than single digits above and below zero. A breezy west wind will continue to drive warmer air into the region today with highs rising above freezing across the board in mid to upper 30s. Keeping in mind Duluth’s normal temps with a high of 31 and low of 16, we’ll settle into a stretch of near to above average temps after today.
Tonight is mild with lows staying in the 20s under partly cloudy skies. Thursday is a touch cooler behind a cold front with highs ranging from upper 20s by the Canadian border to mid-30s in northwest Wisconsin. The front is also responsible for breezy northwest winds. Any snow with this system would be very minimal and limited to the international border.
Our next chance for snow is only a slight one Saturday night into Sunday. Overall, December will start off with a stretch of mild and quiet conditions, continuing the trend we’ve seen for much of November.
