Duluth Denfeld boy’s, girl’s basketball start season on different notes
While the Duluth Denfeld boy's basketball team was successful in their first game of the season, the girl's team struggled mightily.
Friday night served as the season opener for both Duluth Denfeld’s boy’s and girl’s basketball season.
For the boy’s, they overcame a slow start against Kasson-Mantorville to win, 75-62.
A big part of their success was their defense turning into offense, as the Hunters took advantage of the fast break all night. Ethan Started lead Denfeld with 14 points.
For the girl’s team, they found themselves down 14-0 and didn’t score until almost six and a half minutes into the game, losing to North Branch, 75-24.
Ella Kuhlman was the Hunter’s kryptonite, as she poured in 24 points for North Branch.
The boy’s are back in action on Saturday against Big Lake while the girl’s take on Silver Bay on Tuesday.
