Justin Liles: Rain turning to snow tonight
Rain and snow is expected tonight through Saturday. Additional accumulations around a quarter to half an inch of liquid precipitation, mainly south of Hibbing. Snowfall amounts around an inch or two are possible as well, mainly Brainerd Lakes towards Duluth and the North Shore high elevations.
This could lead to some slick spots come Saturday morning. However, with all the rain the ground is wet and warm. It may take a while for the snow to accumulate. The snow that does fall will likely melt at some point next week.
Cooler weather is expected on Sunday and Monday as a cold front passes through. Slight chance for a few light snow showers, but otherwise dry weather. Winds will become breezy from the northwest Sunday through Monday. Some slightly warmer air and quiet weather is expected later next week.
