At their final meeting of the year in 2023, the St. Louis County Board set the budget for 2024.

It’s coming in at $491 million dollars.

One woman spoke during the public comment portion of the meeting, and asked for property tax relief.

The county said that although the property tax levy is going up slightly, homeowner will likely see a decrease in the county’s portion of property taxes. That’s due to overall growth in the tax based.

For example, if your home is valued at $250,000, your bill will be $127 lower in 2024.

Commissioners said that we have the 7th lowest levy in the state.
