Ordean Foundation gifts $90,000 to AICHO for the holidays
For 90 years, the Ordean Foundation has been giving back with millions of dollars in grants and donations throughout the community. A $90,000 grant will help the American Indian community Housing Organization (AICHO). With this money, AICHO will be able to expand their emergency domestic violence shelter from 10 beds to 23 beds.
This all started with an endowment from Ordean Family.
“It’s amazing to think back 100 years ago when Albert and Louise were forming their will and gave the bulk of their wealth to addressing the issues related to poverty in our community. Their $2 million gift back in 1933, has translated into over $75 million of grants within our community over those 90 years. It’s a moment for us to take pause to recognize the impact, recognize the importance of this work.”
Don Ness, Executive Director, Ordean Foundation
AICHO’s shelter is expected to be complete before the end of the year. Head to these links for more information on AICHO and the Ordean Foundation.
