Superior earned the doubleheader sweep over Hayward in their Bar Down by the Bay prep hockey doubleheader at the Superior Ice Arena on Thursday. It served as a fundraiser for Gibson Walsh 20 Foundation scholarships.

The Superior boys shut out the Hurricanes 6-0. The Spartans improve to 5-3 and next battles Bay Port Wednesday, December 27 in the Rocket Red Nose Classic in Neenah, Wisconsin. Hayward (2-3-1) next battles Black River Falls Thursday, Dec. 28.

The Spartan girls defeated the Hayward Co-op 5-2 to improve to 8-1. Superior’s Makaela Reinke would record her 100th point in the win. Next the Spartans face St. Croix Valley Saturday. Hayward (5-5) is off to Eau Claire next week.
