Norton Park United Methodist Church hosts candlelight Christmas service
Norton Park United Methodist Church hosted a candlelight service on Christmas Eve. Members of the community were invited to join for an evening of worship, scripture readings, Christmas carols, special music and more. Christmas Eve also happened to fall on Advent Four, which allowed the church to celebrate two services at once. The event also highlighted the church’s passions of service and fellowship.
“This church does a lot of fellowship by serving,” said Brian Cornell, Pastor of the church. “Sometimes I’ll preach on Sunday, and someone will be knitting in one of the pews. It might be a bonnet for a baby, or just a blanket to give away. We’ve got collections for the schools usually go on. We have other collections, too. They’ve been going on for the different community shelters and that’s a passion of ours.”
