Justin Liles: Some sun returns and a touch cooler

December 27th: Warm until the end

Warm until the end

Temperatures will gradually cool off some by the end of the week and into the weekend. Our coldest day looks to by Sunday on New Years Eve with highs in the upper 20s. However, this will go down as the warmest December on record and the 4th least snowy on record. Even though temperatures are cooling down, it will still be well above normal. I think the biggest difference has been the overnight lows.

Our overnights lows have been near 20°-30° above our average overnight lows. We should be in the low single digits with below zero readings heading into the new year. Our next chance of snow will likely come Saturday afternoon and early evening. A quick 1-2” are possible. Most of the snow will likely fall along the south shore where lake enhancement could lead to higher totals in the snow belt.
