On Friday the Duluth Denfeld boys hockey team would defeat Cloquet-Esko-Carlton (CEC) 4-3 in overtime to win the 2023 Heritage Hockey Classic at Duluth’s Heritage Sports Center.

The Hunters defeated Irondale 4-1 in the quarterfinals Wednesday, then Park of Cottage Grove 3-2 in the semifinals Thursday en route to winning the tournament.

Denfeld improves to 8-3-1 overall and next host Proctor Thursday, January 4 at 7 p.m. CEC (7-4) next visits St. Cloud Cathedral Tuesday, January 2 at 6 p.m.
