Hermantown ousts Proctor in OT despite AJ Reyelts' 46 save night
It had been over 20 years since the Proctor boys hockey team beat Hermantown, and they came oh so close on Tuesday. The Rails would skate Hermantown into overtime tied 1-1, however Drew Nelson would put away the game-winner for the Hawks to win 2-1.
A.J. Reyelts was a brick wall for the Rails recording 46 total saves and a scoreless first and second period. Hermantown’s Andrew Johnson finally scored the game’s first goal in the third period, but Proctor’s Austin Bryant then tied it on a power-play. Nelson scored halfway through overtime to end it.
The Hawks netminder Dane Callaway recorded 13 saves. They improve to 7-2-2 and next visit Rock Ridge Thursday at 7 p.m.
Proctor now sits 9-5 and next visits Duluth Denfeld Thursday at 7 p.m.
