Prep Hockey: Proctor boys down Denfeld, Duluth Marshall girls shutout Rock Ridge
In prep hockey on Thursday, the Proctor boys held off Duluth Denfeld, while the Duluth Marshall girls picked up a shutout win over Rock Ridge.
Proctor defeated Denfeld 3-1 at the Essentia Duluth Heritage Center to improve to 10-5. Austin Bryant scored two goals for the Rails, on in the second period and one in the third, while Cooper Annala added an empty netter. Liam Doyle scored the Hunters’ sole goal on a power play in the third period which tied the game 1-1. Proctor netminder AJ Reyelts and Denfeld’s Liam Fish each recorded 35 saves.
Proctor (10-5) next visits International Falls Saturday, while Denfeld (8-4-1) visits Cambridge-Isanti on Tuesday.
At Mars Lakeview Arena the Duluth Marshall girls shutout Rock Ridge 6-0. Nina Thorson recorded a hat-trick while Ilsa Lindaman tallied two goals and three assists. The Hilltoppers are now unbeaten in their last 16 games and sit 16-1-1 overall.
