Sabrina Ullman: Snow will exit region by Sunday morning

Calm and cooler January 7

Today will be mostly cloudy with afternoon highs in the teens to mid-20s.

Today will be mostly cloudy with afternoon highs in the teens to mid-20s. The next few days will have similar temperatures. This is 10+ degrees warmer than what we usually see in January, but with temperatures staying below freezing all week, we will see ice conditions gradually improve.

There is a chance of snow Monday night into Tuesday. The bulk of that system will be further south, but we will likely see light snow and slick roads. Another round of snow is possible Wednesday and Thursday.

Once the late-week snow exits, much colder air will usher in. Overnight lows will be close to zero Thursday night and in the negative single digits Friday night. Afternoon highs by the end of the week will be in the single digits with some areas cooler than that.

Winds will be fairly light to start the week but become blustery around the same time temperatures drop.
