#6 UMD women’s hockey loses lead late, ties with #8 Quinnipiac
The #6 UMD women’s hockey team was just minutes away from splitting a weekend series with #8 Quinnipiac, but an unfortunate turn of events for the Bulldogs led to a 2-2 tie on Saturday afternoon.
UMD’s Mary Kate O’Brien gave the Bulldogs an early lead, scoring just under three minutes into the start of the game.
There would be no scoring until the 2nd period, when Hanna Baskin ripped her fourth goal of the season into the back of the net, putting the Bulldogs ahead 2-0.
Quinnipiac would score twice in just a three minute span at the end of the third period, forcing overtime, where neither team would score.
UMD looks to get back in the win column against Bemidji State next Saturday.
