Warmer air is set to take over this week. There will be light some areas of light snow as well as freezing drizzle. We are going to see this in two phases. Light snowfall near Lake Superior tonight with freezing drizzle into Tuesday morning. A glaze of ice could form on untreated surfaces as a result and create a slick Tuesday morning commute for shoreline locations. Total snowfall is likely to be less than 1 inch for nearly all locations. The higher terrain of the north shore from Two Harbors to Silver Bay. As much as 1-2” is possible in these areas due to lake enhanced snowfall.

A low-pressure system is expected to move into the Upper Midwest beginning Wednesday evening. A rain and snow mix is possible in northwest Wisconsin beginning Wednesday night. The low pressure would then lift further northward early Thursday morning. Precipitation chances taper Thursday afternoon from wester to east. AM fog is also a concern Wednesday as temperatures maybe cool enough for freezing fog to form. Warmer than average temperatures look to stay around for the next week.
