Our weather this week is benign. There isn’t much happening here in the Northland over the next week. Warmer temperatures will continue to hang around through the end of the and through the weekend. During this time warmer air in the higher aloft is trapping the fog in place. The air quality may become stagnate and have a slight smell to it. Fog, freezing fog, and light flurries will hang around the rest of the work week and into the weekend too. This means we could be seeing some slow traveling during the early morning hours the rest of the week due to fog and freezing fog.

By Saturday some parts of the Northland will see the start of sun. Increased sunshine, along with gusty winds by early next week could create the perfect conditions for quick snow melt. The Duluth area only has a 5” snowpack currently, by Wednesday of next week this could all be gone as temperatures are the region climb into the 40s.
