Duluth man faces criminal vehicular operation after allegedly hitting a firefighter and leaving the scene
Ronald Gene Myrdahl, 88, is accused of driving into a man who had been running along Grand Avenue.
He now faces one count of criminal vehicular operation.
This stems from a crash last Thursday evening. Police responded to a hit and run in the 9500 block of Grand Avenue.
Ray Skoglund, a 24-year-old firefighter for the city of Duluth, had been running when he was hit by a vehicle.
Another driver told police they saw Myrdahl drift into the shoulder, hit something, and continue on.
Myrdahl allegedly told police he did hit something and he had forgotten to turn his lights on.
The prosecution has asked that he not operate a vehicle while this case is pending.
