Ride canceled for 2024 Black Woods Blizzard Tour, banquet and activities still planned
The multi-day snowmobile ride has been canceled for the 2024 Black Woods Blizzard Tour due to warm weather and lack of snow.
“In our 25 years, its only the fourth time we’ve ever had to do it. So, we’re disappointed, but it is what it is,” explained David Kolquist, Chair of the Tour and Never Surrender President.
The ride was originally scheduled to begin on February 7.
The annual fundraiser to fight ALS, however, will still be ongoing as participants will now be partaking in activities at Skyline Social and Games, curling at Curl Mesabi, and everything will still conclude with a banquet at Black Bear Casino Resort on Saturday, February 10.
Kolquist said, while not as many people will participate, they still hope they can reach their $2 million goal.
“At the end of the day, we’re going to help a lot of people that have ALS,” said Kolquist
As of January 31, there are still tickets available for the banquet at Black Bear Casino.
