Duluth Harbor Monsters host tryouts in Proctor
While the end of the NFL season is coming up with the Super Bowl next Sunday, the Duluth Harbor Monsters are getting ready for the start of theirs, as they held tryouts in Proctor on Friday.
The Harbor Monsters saw over 40 players from the area and across the country flock to the Rails Indoor Sports Complex, where they held team drills, one-on-one drills, and positional evaluations.
For the Arena League fans in the Northland, the combination of a new league and new team will be a product unlike any other, according to Head Coach Tony O’neil.
“This is more than football,” said O’Neil. “This is truly a show that we’re putting on because unlike the NFL, we don’t get as many breaks. It’s a 20 second play clock. If we’re not on the field, the owner and our GM and everybody on the team, we have something going on in that field that’s going to keep the crowd on their feet.”
The Harbor Monsters kick off their inaugural season on June 1st. They’ll play home games at the DECC.
