Superior man arrested for threatening his girlfriend with a rifle
On Friday night, just after midnight, officers from the Superior Police Department were dispatched to the 1200 block of Birch Ave. for a disturbance.
According to the Superior Police Department, a female caller reported that she had been in an argument with her boyfriend, during which he threatened to burn the house down and then began handling firearms that were in the house. The female was able to leave the house with her children.
As officers were speaking to the caller at a safe location, the male exited the home with a rifle. After a short time in the backyard with the rifle, the male went back into his home.
The Superior Police Department’s Emergency Response Team, assisted by the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, responded to the scene and formed a perimeter around the home. At around 7 am Saturday, the male exited the home and was taken into custody without incident.
The incident is currently under investigation.
