#8 UMD women’s hockey handles St. Thomas, completes series sweep
Three goals in the second period for the second night in a row was all it took for the #8 UMD women’s hockey team to pass St. Thomas, 5-1.
The night started with Katie Davis flicking her stick out and deflecting the puck in for the 1-0 lead.
After St. Thomas tied the game at 1-1, Reece Hunt scored her fifth goal of the weekend to regain the lead for the Bulldogs.
To follow up Hunt’s goal, Nina Jobst-Smith and Jenna Lawry both found the back of the net to extend the Bulldogs lead to 4-1.
In the third, Olivia Wallin scored to put the game away and secure a fourth UMD win in a row.
UMD is back in action on Friday against St. Cloud State.
