Our Tuesday begins with scattered flurries and a fresh dusting in many areas. Actual accumulation should be limited to the South Shore snowbelt where additional snow stays under an inch before the morning snow showers taper off. Temps begin in teens to mid-20s heading out the door, then we top off in mid-20s to low 30s under partly to mostly cloudy skies today. We stay mild again tonight with lows in upper teens to mid-20s and generally overcast skies.

Scattered light snow showers build across northern Minnesota from the west overnight into early Wednesday morning with another fresh dusting grazing the Twin Ports. Amounts stay under an inch. Wednesday night will bring yet another round of light snow to parts of the Northland, but this round looks to stay further south. We’ll look along and south of a line from Hayward to Ironwood for under an inch of snow by early Thursday morning.

After that, snow chances in the Northland should be limited to lake effect for the South Shore. Periods of snow will be possible there Thursday into the weekend as we enter a cooler period accompanied by winds generally out of the northwest. Wednesday features highs ranging from upper 20s to near 40 looking north to south across the Northland with mid-30s in the Twin Ports. By Friday, highs stay in the teens and morning lows could dip below zero in the cool areas.
