Tech Bytes: FDA issues warning regarding smartwatches
A new warning about wearable technology. The FDA says smartwatches and “smart rings” are not reliable for measuring blood sugar. But the agency says can be paired with devices that use needles to measure those levels. The FDA did not name specific brands.
Google is sprucing up its sign-in page. The new look is aligned more horizontally to work better with more screens. The page is said to be a more modern look and feel with pretty much the same sign-in steps. The complete rollout is expected to take about two weeks.
Apple has added real-time sports scores to iPhone lock screens. It’s part of a new app called sports. Users can set up their favorite teams and get instant updates while they’re playing. Right now it only works with basketball, hockey, and soccer. Other sports are on the way.
