Our Tuesday starts off clear and cooler with tempers mostly in the teens. The need for the hat and gloves will erode in the afternoon as highs range from mid-30s to mid-40s looking north to south across the Northland. A northeast wind developing around 5-10 mph will keep temps a touch cooler immediately near the shores of Lake Superior. Cloud cover increases from the southwest through the day.

Tonight is partly cloudy and a smidge milder than this morning with lows in teens to mid-20s. Wednesday is mostly cloudy with a breezy east wind picking up near 15 mph. This keeps temps in mid-30s from the Twin Ports up the North Shore. Elsewhere, highs range from upper 30sd to upper 40s looking north to south. Wintry mix and snow chances approach north central Minnesota from the west in the afternoon.

Snow and wintry mix continues in northern Minnesota Wednesday night and moves east across the Northland on Thursday. As of this morning, accumulation surpassing 1″ looks to stay limited to Koochiching County. Amounts for much of the rest of northern Minnesota stay under an inch. Highs range from mid-30s to upper 40s on Thursday.

A quiet stretch Friday through Sunday will cooperate nicely with travel, including those hitting the road for the MSHSL Boys Hockey Tournament. We will also see a warming trend with Friday seeing highs in 30s to low 40s and temps climbing to low to upper 40s by Sunday.
