In today’s Tech Bytes: a TikTok showdown. House lawmakers have introduced a bill preventing distribution of the service in the U.S. unless TikTok in the U.S. severs ties with its parent company, Chinese-owned Byte Dance. The bipartisan measure aims to keep TikTok out of app stores.

Apple is now including transcripts for its podcasts. The auto-generated transcripts will appear shortly after a podcast is published. But podcasters can opt out if they want to upload their own transcript or edit the one Apple provides. The feature comes with the company’s latest software update.
