What’s Brewing: Hoops’ Mill Room
Hoops Brewing in Canal Park is opening their new Mill Room Thursday night.
The Mill Room has lounge chairs, couches, and pillows, a contrast to the wood and beer hall benches throughout the rest of the Hoops taproom.
“We wanted to provide a more homey, smaller reservation area for birthday parties, showers, and things like that,” Ingrid Johnson, who designed the space, said. “So that’s what this event space is meant to capture. It’s also open to the public. We’ll be having vinyl nights back here.”
The grand opening of the Mill Room will include spinning vinyl from 6-9 p.m. Thursday. The space is engineered so that the sound swirls.
The Cherry Stout will be one of the beers on tap. It’s made with 900 pounds of Door County cherries. They’re also launching a new food option in the taproom: grab-and-go boxes from Northern Waters Smokehaus. They will be sold in a limited quantity every week.
On Saturday, Hoops will also host a Grown Up Book Fair. Think of the Scholastic Book Fair for kids but with beer and titles provided by the Bookstore at Fitger’s.
