Saturday evening house fire in the City of Rice Lake

On Saturday March 16th, after 6:00 pm, a resident of the W. Calvary Rd. reported smoke coming up from the basement of the house.
The resident was the only person in the house and was in the process of removing pets.
The St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office, the Rice Lake Fire Department, the Canosia Fire Department, Air National Guard Fire and Mayo Clinic Ambulance all responded to the scene.
The fire was extinguished by 6:30 pm. The resident was not injured, and the fire was determined to not be suspicious in nature.
